Police ID murder victim as missing man

Police detectives have identified a man whose body was found Saturday on a cliff side at MacKenzie State Recreation Area in lower Puna as 76-year-old Michael Rosenbaum of Pahoa.

Rosenbaum had been reported as a missing person on July 24, and was reportedly last seen alive on July 22, in Pahoa town.

An autopsy said Rosenbaum was killed by a gunshot to the head, and a second-degree murder investigation has been opened.
